NBCUniversal taps Smith as SVP of comms

NEW YORK: NBCUniversal promoted Hilary Smith to SVP of communications for its entertainment, digital networks, and integrated media portfolio.

NEW YORK: NBCUniversal promoted Hilary Smith to SVP of communications for its entertainment, digital networks, and integrated media portfolio.

The promotion gives Smith added communications leadership over Fandango, DailyCandy, Swirl, and Television Without Pity, as well as the newly launched "Hispanics at NBCU" initiative. Smith will continue to work in her existing areas, including iVillage, Women at NBCU, Green is Universal, and Healthy at NBCU. Her duties will include oversight of corporate messaging and media outreach for the business segments, and development of an overall communications strategy to give greater presence to digital and integrated marketing.

Smith is moving from her position as SVP of communications at NBCU's women and lifetsyle entertainment networks division. She will report to Nicholas Lehman, president of digital networks for NBCU's entertainment, digital networks and integrated media group, and Cameron Blanchard, the group's EVP of communications.
