NEW YORK: WPP agencies Finsbury Group and Robinson Lerer & Montgomery (RLM) have merged to form RLM Finsbury, a new worldwide strategic corporate, financial, and crisis communications agency.

RLM Finsbury will be led by Roland Rudd, founder and head of Finsbury, as chairman, and Walter Montgomery, founder and current CEO of RLM, as CEO. The firm's clients will include Citigroup, Toyota, and BlackRock (from RLM) and Vodafone, J Sainsbury, and Rio Tinto (from Finsbury).

A representative at the agency, who did not want to be quoted, declined to comment on further details of the merger and referred back to the official statement released today.

The newly formed firm will be based out of offices in New York, London, Brussels, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, as well as a new office to open in Q3 2011 in Hong Kong. RLM Finsbury will employ 180 people worldwide. There were reportedly no layoffs.

Finsbury, a financial and corporate communications firm launched in 2004, has supported more than 30 companies. Meanwhile, RLM has provided strategic communications and crisis assistance to clients. The agency opened its doors in 1986.
