NEW YORK: Edelman has promoted Claudia Patton to chief talent officer, a new global position in which she will report directly to CEO Richard Edelman.

Patton, who previously served as the agency's Southeast president, is now responsible for working with Edelman's senior leaders, as well as human resources, on employee global mobility, training and development, performance, management, senior recruitment, and career pathing. She will also sit on Edelman's 14-member executive committee.

Patton joined the agency in 2002 when Edelman acquired The Headline Group, which she founded in 1982.

Last week, Edelman promoted Zing Shaw to VP of US diversity and inclusion, another new role at the firm.
