DailyCandy appoints Howard VP, communications

NEW YORK: DailyCandy has promoted Meredith Howard to VP of communications.

NEW YORK: DailyCandy has promoted Meredith Howard to VP of communications.

She will report to Beth Ellard, EVP and GM of the fashion, beauty, and culture website, and Hilary Smith, SVP of communications for NBC Universal. Howard previously served as senior director of communications.

Howard, who joined the company as communications director in June 2007, will oversee consumer and business publicity, manage internal communications, direct the annual “Start Small, Go Big” initiative, and serve as brand representative at DailyCandy events.

She added that creating a larger dedicated fan base is a short-term goal.

In particular, Howard will seek to heighten brand awareness through social media platforms like Twitter, launch DailyCandy mobile apps, and continue to build brand recognition for SuChin Pak, DailyCandy's on-air correspondent. She will also work to promote the DailyCandy website following the transition of TheFeast.com to the Daily Candy brand.

“My job has so many more growth opportunities now,” she said.

Prior to joining DailyCandy, Howard led the New York office of CarryOn Communications as VP.
