PARIS: Publicis Groupe has acquired Gomye, a Chinese digital agency that specializes in integrated and interactive marketing services.

It will rebrand the firm as Publicis Modem Beijing and Publicis Modem Chengdu. Gomye CEO Alan Yang will become MD of both offices. All 51 Gomye employees will become part of Publicis' local team.

The acquisition is part of Publicis' goal of doubling its size in the Chinese market by 2012. It follows other acquisitions in the region, including Wangfan earlier this month, Genedigi in June, and Dreams in May.
