Verizon Communications is planning to launch a movie and TV streaming service that will rival both traditional entertainment and services like Netflix and Hulu, Reuters reported yesterday.

The company is reportedly in talks with potential programming partners. Today, however, All Things D reported that Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam is denying the launch and calling it “just speculation by people who like to write blogs.”

It was also reported that the streaming service will operate outside of the markets where Verizon FiOS is available, and it could roll out as early as next year.
