On December 14 Capstrat will be “Closed for Good.” The office will be empty, and every employee will be out at one of four volunteer sites: a community farm, a food bank, an assisted living home or a Habitat for Humanity house currently under construction.
Every fall Capstrat brainstorms concepts for the holiday greeting the agency will send out to clients and friends. As part of our mailer, we usually try to raise awareness about a cause or make a donation to a charitable organization. This year we wanted to take it further.
By turning our holiday mailer into a “Closed for Good” sign, we've given recipients the chance to hold their own day of service. We invited everyone to join Capstrat on one of our four projects.
In addition to a mailer-turned-closed-sign, we've created a landing page that explains our mission and will aggregate posts and photos from our day of service. Visit closedforgood.capstrat.com on Wednesday, December 14, to see what we're up to, live.
This year, about 65 employees, from interns to our CEO, will volunteer 260 hours of service.
The effort isn't about getting attention or impressing our clients. We were looking for a simple, small way to make a difference and this was the right one for us. We're excited to get out there and get to work.
