Burson promotes Stafford to Hong Kong CEO

HONG KONG: Burson-Marsteller has promoted Matt Stafford to CEO and market leader of the firm's Hong Kong operation.

HONG KONG: Burson-Marsteller has promoted Matt Stafford to CEO and market leader of the firm's Hong Kong operation.  

Stafford, who will replace former CEO Georgeana Fung, will be responsible for expanding the agency's work for companies, organizations, and governments in Asia. He will report to Bob Pickard, president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific.

Stafford will also continue to lead Burson's global counsel for Asia-headquartered firms, such as Huawei, a global information and communications technology services provider.

Most recently, Stafford was MD of the firm's Asia-Pacific public affairs practice. He returned to Burson-Marsteller in 2007 after five years as senior policy adviser on communications for the Australian government.
