BALTIMORE: Even though the Intelligent Design trial may be over, the victorious law firm representing science hasn't relinquished the limelight.

Sawmill Marketing Public Relations, the PR firm that represented the Philadelphia office of Pepper Hamilton, LLP, which won the case, has continued outreach efforts.

Middle District Judge John E. Jones III ruled that the teaching of intelligent design in public schools violates the First Amendment. The agency is arranging follow-up stories on the case, Kitzmiller, et al. v. Dover Area School District.

The agency, which was hired before the trial, will oversee interviews with lead attorneys for plaintiffs, Eric Rothschild and Stephen Harvey, and national public speaking engagements, to boost visibility of Pepper Hamilton's science and pro bono practice. It provided media training before the trial and onsite assistance during the press conference announcing the judge's decision.
