RALEIGH, NC: The North Carolina Department of Commerce (DOC) will be selecting a PR firm as it prepares to launch a $750,000 image campaign designed to improve the state's image and attract more business.
The DOC has closed its RFP and has accepted bids from three firms. Kelly Keller, executive director of marketing, said the DOC was unsure how much of the marketing budget would go to PR. Keller said this would be the department's first AOR.
The selected agency will pursue an extensive national business and trade-specific media relations campaign, targeting the life sciences, IT, financial services, plastics, automotive, and textiles industries.
The company is also investing $500,000 to create a new website.
"Eighty-five percent of companies that look for sites in which to relocate narrow it down by the look of a website," Keller said.
