NEW YORK: Stuart Zakim has joined cable network Showtime in the new role of VP of corporate PR.
Zakim will focus on expanding the company's profile to business and cable trade publications, as well as the television industry itself, he said.
"As Showtime continues to grow and become more popular, there's a need to send messages to the various trade publications and national magazines about what this brand is about," explained Richard Licata, EVP of corporate communications, about why he created the new role. Zakim will report to Licata.
One of Zakim's first initiatives will be to launch Showtime's 30th anniversary media outreach.
Based in New York, Zakim will also act as the PR liaison with Showtime's corporate parent, CBS.
Zakim joins from American Media, publisher of The National Enquirer and other magazines, where he was SVP of corporate communications. He has also held senior communications positions with Wenner Media, Playboy Enterprises, Universal Pictures, and Columbia Pictures.
