LOS ANGELES: Lagrant Communications, a full-service advertising, marketing and public relations firm specializing in the African American and Hispanic consumer markets has launched a new entertainment and sports (E&S) practice.

The new division serves clients seeking more product placement and celebrity endorsements.  Christina Branson, formerly an account director with Lagrant, will serve as the unit's managing director.

Kim Hunter, CEO of Lagrant, said a lot of the company's clients ranging from Harley Davidson to non-profits have been requesting more product placement and endorsement-type programs.

Hunter said the E&S practice would do general entertainment marketing, including trawling for celebrity spokespeople for client brands, brand-identity development, product placement and event planning. He said the new programs will be integrated with current marketing and branding campaigns for clients trying to reach the urban market.

Branson will be responsible for the overall business development of the E&S practice.
