SAN FRANCISCO: Allison & Partners has acquired Blattel Communications, strengthening the agency’s professional services practice.

"We're continuing to grow aggressively, both organically and through acquisitions," said Allison CEO Scott Allison. "Blattel has a lot of synergy with us in terms of energy and culture, and we loved their professional services expertise."

The acquisition comes on the heels of Allison opening a Washington, DC office. The San Francisco-based agency also has offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Palo Alto, CA.

Allison, which had revenue of about $6 million last year, is now an $8 million firm. And with Blattel's 12 employees joining the firm, it now has 70 employees.

Allison said the professional services industry, including law firms and real estate, is underserved; he said the acquisition puts Allison in the position to mine that market.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Ellen Blattel, president of her nearly 16-year-old San Francisco-based firm, will join Allison as a partner, and will run the newly formed Allison Blattel Professional Services Group.

"We were hearing that many of our clients wanted a national platform, and this provides them with that," said Blattel of the acquisition. She said it would also provide her employees with expanded resources, and the opportunity to draw from Allison's other practices.
