TALLAHASSEE, FL: Representative Katherine Harris' (R-FL) communications director was one of three staff members that departed her flagging US Senate campaign over the weekend.

Morgan Dobbs, press secretary, left the campaign over the weekend, along with advisor Ed Rollins and campaign manager Jamie Miller, according to multiple media reports. Harris issued a press release that said the staff would be replaced within a week.

Harris is challenging Democrat incumbent Bill Nelson, and has received little support from the national Republican base. Media reports have alleged that Republican leadership have asked her to step aside and have tried to recruit a replacement to challenge Miller.

Former campaign manager Jim Dornan told the AP, "This is a campaign that is spiraling downward by the minute."
