BADD hires TransMedia, plans anniversary outreach

DAYTONA BEACH, FL: The Bikers Against Drunk Drivers (BADD) has signed TransMedia Group as its first AOR. The group, which also has offices in Glendale, CA, is marking its 20th anniversary, and preparing to launch a series of celebrity backed events to raise funds and awareness that almost 40% of bike accidents are caused by drunk drivers.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL: The Bikers Against Drunk Drivers (BADD) has signed TransMedia Group as its first AOR. The group, which also has offices in Glendale, CA, is marking its 20th anniversary, and preparing to launch a series of celebrity backed events to raise funds and awareness that almost 40% of bike accidents are caused by drunk drivers.

TransMedia Group, Palm Beach County's largest independent firm was tapped after a non-competitive search. Efforts will include highlighting BADD's charity on behalf of motorcyclists who have been injured in crashes or the kin of those killed in crashes due to drunk drivers.

Efforts include a US and Canada grassroots efforts at motorcycle events where the group will raffle off motorcycles signed by celebrity supporters like ZZ-Top, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, and Nicolas Cage. Money from the raffle will be donated to those left injured or dependants. BADD has recently formed a partnership with Bruce Rossmeyer of Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona and his several Harley-Davidson dealerships, where they plan to host the World's Largest Bike Giveaway.

Tom Madden, founder and CEO of TransMedia, said events and fund raising efforts will tie into the group's 20th anniversary.

"We are looking to do sponsorships, and we are planning six events this year. I've assigned three top people to the account," he said.
