NEW YORK: About 30 legendary PR professionals have agreed to sign on as mentors to members of the New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Sir Martin Sorrell, Harold Burson, Richard Edelman, Larry Weber, Gershon Kekst, Michael Kempner, Lou Capozzi and David Finn are among participants. Each participating NY PRSA member will spend at least one hour in person with a legend as well as engage in ongoing dialogue through the end of 2006.

According to Art Stevens, PRSA-NY president, the purpose of the program is to provide Chapter members with the knowledge, experience and industry savvy.

"The benefit of being in New York is that all of these legends have achieved their greatest successes here," said Stevens, in a release. "Our members can tap into the genius of individuals they wouldn't normally get in to see."

Any of the nearly 700 members of the New York Chapter is eligible. David Grant, who leads the mentoring committee, is charged with matching members with mentors.
