COLUMBUS, OH: 5WPR has been taken on by The Language Access Network (TLAN) as its AOR to promote its TLAN system to hospitals and pharmacies, as well as the multicultural community.

TLAN system provides live, one-on-one access from hospitals or pharmacies for non-English speaking patients via a flat-screen monitor that allows for interpreters to break-down the barrier between English speaking doctors and their non-English patients; communicating diagnosis, symptoms, and prescription guidelines.

"We're doing a very proactive campaign to Spanish-speaking communities, Russian communities, and African communities around the US," said Adam Handelsman, SVP and GM at 5WPR. "We're really targeting major immigration hubs."

After a successful one-year pilot program at Ohio State Medical Center, the PR team has begun outreach to the healthcare industry, making the Ohio State team available to discuss the benefits it has found using the system. 5WPR has done media outreach in five languages and is using translators to do interviews with the medical trade media. The PR team is currently focusing on reaching hospital administrators and pharmacy heads via trade shows and conferences, as well as niche trade publications.

"We are going to be doing grassroots marketing in Miami," he added. "There will be street teams and different ways to educate the local Spanish communities."
