On August 24, Plan B, the "morning-after" pill, was approved for over-the-counter (OTC) sale for women 18 and over. But the three-year battle with the FDA did not end there. Women's advocacy groups like Reproductive Health Technologies Project (RHTP) are continuing the fight to get the pill approved for OTC sale for all women of all ages.

RHTP is working with DDBIssues, an advocacy branch of DDB Worldwide, to get the word out that the pill is safe for women of all ages. The group is working with Dr. Susan Wood, former FDA assistant commissioner for women's health and director of the Office of Women's Health, who resigned last year in protest when the Plan B OTC application was denied.
