UPDATE: Fleishman wins Motorola account

BOSTON: Motorola has selected Fleishman-Hillard as its global agency, Chuck Kaiser, Motorola director of external communications confirmed to PRWeek.

BOSTON: Motorola has selected Fleishman-Hillard as its global agency, Chuck Kaiser, Motorola director of external communications confirmed to PRWeek.

In an e-mailed statement, Kaiser said, "Motorola... has selected Fleishman-Hillard to partner with us in building awareness and context around our global vision of seamless mobility and in communicating effectively across our business units and product lines to audiences worldwide."

PRWeek reported that the global technology company issued an RFP for the work in October 2006.

At the time of the RFP, Motorola was working with several firms, such as Hill & Knowlton in the US and other markets, JCPR Edelman in the UK, Ogilvy in Asia, and The Fish Can Sing for PR and buzz marketing. Fleishman's new assignment may or may not affect those relationships.

"We will consider the need to review country agency relationships on a case-by-case basis," said Chuck Kaiser, director, of external communications at Motorola.

Motorola is also using Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher (JFWBK) to help its media staff to deal with news that activist investor Carl Icahn plans to run for a seat on the board of the communications gear giant. Kaiser said JFWBK has been an advisor to Motorola on various financial communications since early 2003.
