Edelman repping deposed Thai PM Thaksin

WASHINGTON: Edelman in late January signed a six-month, $50,000-per-month contract to provide PR for former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, whose government was overthrown in a non-violent military coup in late September 2006 while Thaksin was in New York. The billionaire Thaksin, now living in exile, recently pledged not to return to politics in Thailand but may face charges by the military junta now ruling the country for alleged corrupt business dealings.
