SAN JOSE: Online marketplace eBay has named Hill & Knowlton its first-ever corporate AOR after a competitive review.

H&K won the task in February. The account's value is undisclosed.

H&K has already started working on PR initiatives for eBay, promoting its CSR work and innovation-related news, said Joe Paluska, director of H&K's worldwide tech practice. The firm is also handling executive communications.

H&K's San Francisco's office will also serve the accounts of eBay Australia and Ireland.

Over the years, the eBay online marketplace has bought PayPal, Shopping.com, Rent.com, and Skype, among other companies. It also owns online classified systems, such as Kiijii, and it has a minority investment in Craigslist.

Hani Durzy, director of corporate communications for eBay, told PRWeek that an AOR selection would not affect the company's work with other agencies.

Ebay works with Access Communications for Shopping.com, Kaplow for ebay.com and consumer business, and Text 100 on technology and innovation.
