Cassidy, Opinionmakers handling Equatorial Guinea outreach

WASHINGTON: Cassidy & Associates and Bethesda, MD-based subcontractor Opinionmakers International are providing US outreach for the government of Equatorial Guinea under a $15,000-per-month contract that runs from January through the end of December 2007. Work includes development of a US-focused communications strategy, PR, Web site development, and overall “online presence,” according to a Justice Department filing. Equatorial Guinea, which has generated significant revenue in recent years from oil and gas deposits, is accused by human rights groups of repressing political opposition groups and censoring the media. A Cassidy & Associates representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
