The AP is reporting (and the language on PaidCritics.com is confirming) that PaidCritics.com, a Web site of Wal-Mart-backed critics that attacked compensated critics (from other organizations) who attacked Wal-Mart (phew), is not continuing day-to-day operations. It will, however, remain online as an archive.
Working Families for Wal-Mart is proud to have brought the Paid Critics’ motives to light. Those motives are now crystal clear, and their attacks are failing.

So we have decided to move on and focus our time and energy on other Wal-Mart matters.

Wake Up Wal-Mart responds
In a fitting end to a week that can only be described as the "Wal-Mart 2007 Self-Destruction Tour," Wal-Mart, after having its spin machine exposed by the New Yorker, watching their CEO Lee Scott refuse to answer questions on Fox News, tell New York (through the New York Times) to basically 'drop dead,' and then tell Business Week that Wal-Mart is on the side of angels (we would make a joke, but we are feeling gracious), is shutting down its personal attack website, PaidCritics.com.

There is likely never any good time to shutter one's Web site, but given Wal-Mart's spate of bad news recently, it might have been worthwhile to close shop a month from now. The declaration of victory might have been less contested then.
