I've done the gut check and determined this post, on Imus, natch, is edifying and not merely a product of trying to blog something (why not beat the Imus horse?)

Ana Marie Cox posted a short note on Time's very good blog Swampland that said her comments about Imus would go into a forthcoming magazine article and that, since she had been asked, she won't be going on the show again.

Some in the comments praised her decision, but compelling arguments from people who had criticism. Read all the comments, as there are plenty. The ones critical of AMC are, by no means, in the majority. But it does bring up the question of whether people who went on the show knowing he had said previous hurtful comments are going to be criticized, even if they don't go on anymore.
that's it...take the easy way out....that a girl!!!

Hey, everyone, be sure to catch Ana Marie Cox on the Chris Matthews Show, the Sam Seder Show, Tucker, and Scarborough Country explaining why she won't go on Imus any more.

Why were you going on Imus in the first place? Because you couldn't get booked on Howard? Or The Daily Show? Or is it because you can't sell anymore copies of that crap novel you wrote? Brava, Ana Marie.
