WPP Q1 revenue grows 4.3%

LONDON: WPP Group reported first-quarter revenue for 2007 up 4.3% to $2.7 billion compared with same period in 2006, and excluding acquisitions and adjusting for changes in currency values. Advertising and media accounted for a bulk of the revenue, totaling approximately $1.26 billion, up 4.5% when currency fluctuations are excluded, while public relations and public affairs generated about $295 million, up 12.9%, accounting for the strongest growth at the firm, WPP said.
