There's an interesting article today in the New York Times about how Trojan's latest TV ad campaign has had problems with some broadcasters. Apparently, Fox and CBS, thought a commercial touting condoms as a pregnancy-prevention tool, rather than something to prevent disease, was inappropriate- even for late-night TV. The spots are scheduled to air on ABC, NBC and nine cable networks including Comedy Central and Adult Swim, which should help in reaching the desired demographic. But one has to wonder why it's OK to run ads for drugs like Cialis and Viagra, which last time I checked weren't medically necessary, during primetime and not for something that actually helps both men and women take responsibility for their actions.
