With less than three weeks until its release, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows took another spoiler hit at, of all places, Nathan's Famous July Fourth International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
During introductions for the competition, broadcast on ESPN, contestant Tim “Eater X” Janus held up a sign (spoiler alert) saying, “Hermione dies.”
This just underscores the difficulty PR pros face in trying to prevent leaks of highly anticipated launches.
Now, common sense would tell you that Janus’ statement is just a guess (I mean, come on, the back of his sign said, “On the seventh day God created Hartford"), but sometimes guesses end up being right.
