McCain’s press operation decimates itself

WASHINGTON: Much of the communications department of John McCain's troubled presidential campaign resigned today. The departures included communications director Brian Jones, deputy communications directors Matt David and Danny Diaz, research director Brian Rogers, and South Carolina spokesman Adam Temple. According to the Washington Post, the departing staffers were loyal to McCain's ex-campaign director Terry Nelson. Jill Hazelbaker, who has been managing New Hampshire press for McCain, is expected to replace Jones.
