The recent flurry of lawsuits between Penn Schoen & Berland (PSB) and former employees Michael Berland, Mitchell Markel, and others appears to have melted away.

The recent flurry of lawsuits between Penn Schoen & Berland (PSB) and former employees Michael Berland, Mitchell Markel, and others appears to have melted away.

The New York Observer reports that both suit and countersuit in a dispute related to the departure of Berland & Co. and their alleged solicitation of PSB clients despite a non-compete agreement have been dropped. PSB reportedly received an undisclosed amount of money in settlement from the defendants of the original suit.

In addition, Markel has dropped his countersuit, which alleged PSB violated federal wiretapping laws and his privacy by reading his Blackberry messages. Now he says PSB was perfectly entitled to read his messages and did not act improperly in any way, according to a PSB statement.
