SAN FRANCISCO: StubHub, an online ticket marketplace acquired by eBay in January, has selected Ruder Finn as AOR.

SAN FRANCISCO: StubHub, an online ticket marketplace acquired by eBay in January, has selected Ruder Finn as AOR.

The agency was awarded a renewable contract that totals six figures annually, said Ruder Finn/ West MD Howard Solomon.

Sean Pate, PR director at StubHub, said PR efforts will include business and consumer-media outreach and sports marketing.

"Until StubHub is recognized on par with the eBays and Amazons of the world as the de facto name for tickets, we have a long way to go," he added.

StubHub's former AOR was Waggener Edstrom Worldwide. It enlisted RF after Andy Pray, one of WE's account leads, joined the agency as an SAE, Pate said.

"[WE] did a great job of really getting StubHub on the map," he noted. "But we needed to... move [in] a different direction."

Debra Raine, SVP and head of WE's western region, said the parting was amicable.

StubHub also works with Rogers & Cowan.
