NOVI, MI: A new full-service PR firm, After50 Marketing, has launched with the expressed purpose of targeting baby boomers and senior consumers.

After50 is the sister company to Marketing Renovations, a marketing strategy, design, and PR firm with offices in Detroit, New York and Washington. The firm will specialize in services for professional healthcare, adult living, legal, financial, and other areas targeted to this demographic. Some of its clients are financial services firm Seger Elvekrog and Elder Law Solutions.

“About a year and a half ago, we looked at our market potential and our history and realized that a lot of our work was attracting high-value consumers, and they happen to be older adults,” said Kelly Kroll, president and founder of After50. Kroll was a co-owner of Marketing Renovations for 10 years. “The market’s going in this direction.”

Among the stats collected on a fact sheet After50 distributed: by 2015, 45% of the US population will be over 50 and the over 50 demographic controls a household net worth of $19 trillion.

“They’ve been through a lifetime as individuals, as workers, parents, [and] consumers,” said Kroll. “They have experience making decisions about their valuable resources. It’s about providing more honest content and feedback.”
