About 150-200 people attended the PRSA National Capital Chapter’s Thoth awards event last night, with DDB Issues & Advocacy winning "best of show" for the launch of a videogame by HopeLab for young people with cancer.

Hosted by former local ABC anchor Kathleen Matthews (now communications chief for Marriott), with presentation of awards by members of the media from the Washington Business Journal, FishBowlDC, Politico, the DC Communicator, and PRWeek (me), among others, the night included a video tribute and silent auction for the family of 2004 chapter president Pam Miles, who passed away recently.

Other firms taking home a Thoth (pronounced "tot" and named for the Egyptian god of communication) included CCG LLC Public Relations for "community relations"; Ketchum for "events and observances" and "Web site"; the American Medical Association for "public affairs"; Capital One for "internal communications"; the National Education Association for "media relations"; and Ogilvy for "blogs" and "creative tactics."
