Michael Kern, head of sales and marketing for the Volkswagen brand, made the claim to the German industry magazine Auto Motor und Sport this past weekend. In hopes of achieving this goal the company said it plans to launch 12 new models in the next three years and increase its presence in the US, Russia, and India.
Earlier this month Volkswagen announced it was planning to move its North American headquarters from Auburn Hills, MI to Herndon, VA. We recently reported on the automakers' new marketing effort for the release of its Touareg 2 SUV. And the company also announced last week that after only 14 months it would be replacing David Goggins as director of product and marketing strategy.
