Interpublic revenue up, net down in Q3

NEW YORK: Interpublic Group announced revenues of $1.56 billion for the third quarter of this year, up from $1.45 billion in the third quarter of 2006. Net income for the quarter was negative, with a loss applicable to common shareholders of $28.8 million, compared to a net loss applicable to common shareholders of $8.2 million in the quarter last year.

Yearly results show improvement for the holding company. Year-to-date revenue so far stands at $4.57 billion, up from $4.31 billion a year ago. Net loss applicable to common shareholders so far for 2007 is $31.5 million, compared to a loss of $136.5 million through three quarters last year.

CMG the IPG division housing its large PR agencies, had revenue of $248.2 million for the quarter, up from $227.2 million in Q3 of 2006.
