The apparently ever tumultuous personal and political life of Rudy Giuliani rocks on, with the recent news of his endorsement by influential conservative leader Pat Robertson followed not long after by news of the federal indictment of his former crony Bernard Kerik, the unsavory former NYC police commissioner. Not clear if the two items cancel each other out.

Meanwhile, both Democratic and Republican party leaders are making some token efforts to reverse the trend of states toward holding earlier and earlier primaries. The RNC, for example, voted to take away half of Florida's delegates at the national convention next year . But there's apparently no stopping those states – now Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says he supports moving his state's primary up a month earlier, to February 5 .
