PepsiCo names new head of communications

PURCHASE, N.Y.: PepsiCo has named Julie Hamp SVP of corporate communications replacing the retiring Tod MacKenzie, who announced he would be stepping down in October after seven years as the company's head communicator.

PURCHASE, N.Y.: PepsiCo has named Julie Hamp SVP of corporate communications replacing the retiring Tod MacKenzie, who announced he would be stepping down in October after seven years as the company's head communicator. Hamp, A 25-year veteran of General Motors, will report PepsiCo chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi. She most recently served as the automaker's VP of communications in Europe.

At PepsiCo, Hamp will lead a global communications team including PepsiCo Corporate, PepsiCo International, PepsiCo America Beverages and PepsiCo America Foods. PepsiCo recently announced it was realigning its PepsiCo North America and PepsiCo International divisions into three major operating units, PepsiCo American Foods, PepsiCo American Beverages and PepsiCo International.

MacKenzie will remain at PepsiCo until February 8 to aid in the transition.

The company's 2006 annual revenues were more than $35 billion.
