Marketwire announces acquisition, new hire

TORONTO: Marketwire has acquired International Media Services Companies (IMS), expanding their presence to 17 new offices including Miami, Beijing, and Shanghai. The acquisition also gives Marketwire interest in operations in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo. IMS offers newswire, translation, financial news aggregation, media management, and monitoring services for emerging markets including Asia and Latin America. Marketwire also announced that Hector Botero has joined the company as VP, emerging markets. Botero will further develop the Marketwire brand in regional markets around the world. He will report to Marketwire president and CEO Michael Nowlan.
