Interpublic reports profit up

NEW YORK: Interpublic Group, the company that owns PR agencies Golin/Harris, Weber Shandwick, and MWW Group, among others, reported on Friday that yearly revenue grew almost 6% to $6.6 billion. IPG did not break down revenues by discipline. Quarterly profit was three times higher than the same period a year ago. The company reported net quarterly income of $162.7 million, compared with $49.1 million a year ago. Quarterly revenue rose 5.6% to $1.98 billion.
