Edelman hires Chris Komisarjevsky as strategic advisor

NEW YORK: Edelman hired Chris Komisarjevsky, a former CEO of Burson-Marsteller, as strategic advisor to the agency's president and CEO, Richard Edelman. He will assist the firm's leadership development program, support global clients, and act as pro-tem chair of the firm's global corporate practice. The firm reported it recorded 18% growth for the year ending June 2008. Komisarjevsky retired from Burson in 2005 after serving in his CEO role for more than six years. Most recently he taught graduate students at Boston University's College of Communications and had previously served as a senior counselor with APCO Worldwide. Richard Edelman praised the hire, calling Komisarjevsky "one of the most accomplished counselors in our profession." Komisarjevsky noted his past relationship with Edelman. "On a personal level, Richard and I have long known each other, competed often, and I am very proud to have the opportunity to work closely with him and his talented teams around the world to help Edelman reach new heights," Komisarjevsky said.
