'The Dark Knight' infiltrates Internet as film release creeps closer

Back in April, a Web site called Operation Slipknot launched, which gave fans assignments from Lt. Jim Gordon, a character in the movie.

The Joker "took over" the Citizens for Batman site with his "Why So Serious?" catchphrase and eerie imagery about how Batman should die. And the most recent viral campaign is a Commit Your Friend site, where Dark Knight fans can upload pictures of their friends to see how they would look in an insane asylum.
