General Mills' CMO to serve as chair of PRWeek Awards

NEW YORK: Mark Addicks, the CMO and SVP at General Mills, will serve as the chairman of judges for the 2009 PRWeek Awards, which will take place at the Tavern on the Green in New York City on March 5, 2009.

NEW YORK: Mark Addicks, the CMO and SVP at General Mills, will serve as the chairman of judges for the 2009 PRWeek Awards, which will take place at the Tavern on the Green in New York City on March 5, 2009.

Addicks, who joined the $13.65 billion company in 1988, currently oversees the company's global
PR, advertising, promotions, design, packaging, online, and licensing initiatives, as well as its multicultural efforts. He was promoted to CMO in 2004 and SVP of marketing in 2007.

"The PR industry continues to increase in stature in the eyes of the chief marketing officer, and to have such an esteemed professional as Mark Addicks chair our Awards confirms that standing."

The judging for this year's PRWeek Awards will take place in December 2008 in New York City. Last year's awards competition attracted a record-setting 957 entries.
