NBC Universal Digital Studios launched Gemini Division, its first original Web series, on August 18. The show, starring Rosario Dawson, has been generating consistent buzz since the studio previewed it at Comic-Con in July. Available through NBC.com, SciFi.com, and GeminiDivision.com, the program will also be shown in several mobile, gaming, and VOD platforms.

Bloggers and entertainment reporters have been covering the debut of the show, with Dawson, creator Brent Friedman, and director Stan Rogow available for interviews. Buzz has been building about how "Web video has finally captured Hollywood's imagination" and how Gemini Division "will be a litmus test for whether old media can play successfully in Web video."

Gemini Division focuses on Dawson's character, Anna Diaz, who is a cop drawn into "a secret war between a race of artificial life forms known as SIMs and the covert agency charged with hunting them down," according to a press release.
