ATLANTA: Newell Rubbermaid (NR) is in the final stages of choosing an AOR to oversee its technology global business unit, which include the brands Dymo, Endicia, and Mimio.
With two-rounds of review over, a decision is expected within the next two to three weeks, according to David Doolittle, VP, Corporate Communications, NR.
The RFP was issued in late spring in an effort to consolidate the PR firms working with a number of brands, some of which were just acquired, he told PRWeek.
Doolittle declined to name the agencies participating in the review, but said, “several substantial firms ranging in size from boutique to large, global agencies,” were invited. He added that NR will put a lot of resources into growing this practice.
“The technology business is a strategic growth platform for Newell Rubbermaid, and we're using this opportunity to tie together multiple brands that are aimed at small and medium and also larger business enterprises,” he said.
NR is concurrently reviewing an advertising AOR for this business. The marketing consultants, the Bedford Group in Atlanta oversaw both AOR searches.
Fleishman-Hillard is the company's global corporate AOR, but Doolittle said work with the agency is separate from this review.
