Michael Oldenburg, PayPal manager of corporate communications, said Access will handle all aspects of the business, including corporate, consumer, and merchant services.
"This [AOR] search was focused on [doing PR] in the United States," he said.
PayPal previously worked with Access as its consumer agency. Oldenburg declined to state the contract amount. But he confirmed that incumbent Bite Communications and GolinHarris were among the agencies that pitched. Bite declined comment. Prior to the consolidation, Text 100 handled security issues, he added.
“[We're tasked with] how do you not only make PayPal relevant but have greater value proposition than other competitors in the online commerce arena,” said Susan Butenhoff, president/CEO of Access Communications. “And how do you actually create messaging and brand activities that are consistent against different audiences.”
