Financial press benefits from Wall Street crisis

Money-focused media gain during financial mess; 'Newsday' reveals past losses; 'Newsweek' reimagining itself.

With a few exceptions, the Wall Street crisis has been gold for financial media - as well as vindication for newly announced Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman. Nielsen Online figures show that CNNMoney.com, BusinessWeek.com, Forbes.com, and Portfolio.com all saw traffic increases during September. CNBC had its all-time best week during the week of October 6, and Fox Business Network signed deals to reach new markets.

Newsday reveals losses prior to its May sale to Cablevision.

Newsweek tries to reinvent itself.

CNN International will broadcast from Abu Dhabi.

USA Today will raise its newsstand price by 25 cents to $1.
