Biden names three comms staff members

WASHINGTON: Vice President-elect Joe Biden appointed three communications staffers for the Office of the Vice President. Jay Carney, the Washington bureau chief of Time Magazine, was named assistant to the VP and director of communications; Elizabeth Alexander, communications director for Biden's Senate office and the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, will be the press secretary; and Annie Tomasini, currently the deputy press secretary for Biden on the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team, was tapped as deputy press secretary.
