NEW YORK: TVN Communications has been awarded a $250,000 quarterly contract by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to develop broadcast news packages. Commissioned to establish confidence in the nation's transportation system following the terrorist attacks of September 11, the materials will focus primarily on aviation.

According to the RFP, the TSA was seeking a vendor to develop news stories about the overall safety and security infrastructure at airports. Brian Unger, director of marketing for TVN, said that airport screening, baggage security, and K-9 detection would be among the topics covered in the broadcast materials. Video and audio news releases will be produced, and satellite and radio media tours will be done live from various local airports around the country.

The account team is being led by Kyle Carmone, SAE, and consists of six media and three production staffers.
