Burson appoints former GetMusic president to lead advertising unit

NEW YORK: Andrew Nibley has been named the new chairman of Marsteller, the advertising, interactive, event management, and production unit of Burson-Marsteller.

NEW YORK: Andrew Nibley has been named the new chairman of Marsteller, the advertising, interactive, event management, and production unit of Burson-Marsteller.

Nibley will oversee Marsteller's US operations in New York, Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, and Chicago, and coordinate with its offices in London, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong.

Nibley had previously run Vivendi Universal's music portal, and was president of GetMusic, a Universal joint venture with BMG.

Prior to his work at GetMusic, Nibley cofounded Reuters NewMedia, transforming Reuters into a major news provider on the web. He'd also served as Reuters' editor for North and Latin America, and was its SVP of news and TV.

"In Andy, we have found someone who thoroughly understands the media, the internet, and business," said Chet Burchett, US president and CEO of Burson. "He enjoys the challenge of building business and managing growth."

Marsteller focuses on b-to-b, corporate, financial, crisis, and brand-building projects.

"My background in running a business, working as a journalist, and building content-driven e-commerce internet companies has prepared me well for this new role."
