SACRAMENTO: NEC Solutions America has hired Voce Communications as its AOR to help the company reposition itself.

In April 2002, NEC Computers, NEC Technologies, and NEC Systems merged to become NEC Solutions America, an affiliate of NEC, said Beth Makosey, director of corporate communications. "NEC Solutions is a large company that has a lot of expertise and knowledge in areas of information technology," she said. "A lot of potential customers are unaware of that expertise and knowledge.

"Our focus is on the customer, instead of creating a product that we go out and market," she added. "We give customers a solution tailored to their needs. We want to get the word out about that."

Voce president Richard Cline said, "One of our first goals is to focus on the integration of those three divisions into one brand."
