Lollapalooza tour returns under PR guidance of Lippin

LOS ANGELES: Lollapalooza, the multi-stage music festival that rocked the country throughout the '90s, has chosen The Lippin Group to do PR for its 2003 tour, the first since 1997.

LOS ANGELES: Lollapalooza, the multi-stage music festival that rocked the country throughout the '90s, has chosen The Lippin Group to do PR for its 2003 tour, the first since 1997.

Founded in 1991 by Jane's Addiction front man Perry Farrell, the festival presented cutting-edge bands and broadened alternative cultural trends, earning Spin magazine's title of "The Number One Tour That Changed the World."

The tour was announced on February 10. Lippin will handle PR for the entire tour, including national and local programs, as well as coordinating the publicists of individual acts. Though the tour is still being planned, Lippin will manage media relations and grassroots campaigns.

"There's a big national approach," said president Ronnie Lippin, "but every ticket is sold at a local level. We're looking forward to a lot of sold-out shows."
